PECL imagick module version of gallery

Recently my webhoster (friend giving me free bandwidth) disabled passthru() and exec() due to phpbb exploiters.

This leads to all my gallery installs breaking. If it were only 1 or 2, I wouldnt have a problem, but I have dozens.

The 'good' side of this is, he installed imagick PECL native module ( http://pecl.php.net/package/imagick ) for PHP.

It is supposed to be a safe host out to imagick executables. Has anyone ever worked with this module? aka customized/patched their gallery?

Let me know. Sooner I can mod my module, the better.
