Odd installation problem

I'm trying to install G2 for the first time on Windows 2003 with IIS6 (which I realise isn't really supported but its all I've got at the moment!).

I'm seeing a weird problem during installation. I run through the authentication step, copy the login.txt file, all the system checks are fine and then when I try and create an admin password it kicks me back to the authentication stage with the following message:-

Error: your login.txt key does not match correctly. Please download a new authentication string from below and try again.

I have downloaded the latest nightly build for this and PHP is running fine. Any help would be appreciated!

- apache(2) is free, why not use it?
- iis should be supported, G2 should run on G2. you're not the first to try G2 on iis. on the other hand, we already heard of a case of G2 on IIS on win 2003 server which was awfully slow. we didn't have a chance to debug the setup.
- seems like the session was lost during the install steps. that's strange. possible reason: misconfigured php? did you try it again? did you try it with another browser? no problems in the system check step of the installer?

Hmmm - odd, I posted a reply saying I got it to work on the browser on the server itself but it seems to have vanished. It appears to be the browser I was trying. Got G2 working fine (on IIS!) but also can't log in so definitely a browser problem as it works fine from elsewhere.

I will install Apache when I get a chance - was just trying it on a machine running Exchange with OWA which needs IIS so didn't want to stop it.

Thanks for the help!

if you can't login, try to delete all cookies for this domain and login again...worth a try.
