I am eagerly awaiting the release of Gallery version 1.5. I am tracking it's status nearly every day. I am just wondering what are the stages the project must go through before it can be named 'Final'. I know that Release Candidates are the first to come out so it's still in it's infancy. I don't know much about developing but from seeing other software it's something like:
RC1-2-3, Alpha, Beta, Final.
Is this correct?

Actually, you have it somewhat reversed.
Alpha, Beta, RC, Final.
RC is 'Release Candidate' which just means 'We're really close.. help us nail the last issues before we release the final build.'
We're hoping to have 1.5 Final released by mid-next week.
