upgrade not working, beta 1 -> beta 2

when I try to upgrade from beta 1 to beta 2, it starts the "upgrading gallery core" part, but the progress bar doesn't move, and the nothing really happens, until the page stops loading... I tried changing the ?step= value to 4, but that didn't do anything ;)

max_execution_time is set to 50000, so that can't really be the problem, and I tried it with php 5.0.3 and 4.3.10

any suggestions?

it may take a while and you shouldn't have touched it unless it took like 10 minutes (and i not even know if 10 minutes is ok for large galleries). the reason is a change in architecture which requires to translate 1 date (permission) format to another.

how long did you wait?
and we can really only refer to the readme and say "please restore your beta 1 backups" and then we might debug it or just retry.
