Hi Jade,
When you have time, could you please give a tutorial on how to change our own 1.4.4 skins to work with 1.5

I enjoy designing skins by adapting your originals, and have done several.
I would like to keep using them after upgrading the galleries to 1.5.

In fact I am happy to wait till I can adapt them before upgrading.

I just wanted to bring this to your attention.

Thanks,
Gaynor.

Well, I'm not Jade but here are some suggestions to tide you through...

Change your customized css file (embedded_style.css) to screen.css - that will make the css with your skin files work with the new version. (look in the skin files that shipped with v1.5 and you will see that the css has all been renamed)

As well, there's the additional tpl files you can work with to customize a skin (you don't need to touch the base html_wrap and layout files this way).

The css has been updated to make customization easier, and it is well labelled, so take a look and see what you can figure out - you may well be able to make changes without waiting for a tutorial.

I'm playing around with them now, making my first skins in fact, and it's a fairly easy process. If you've worked with skins previously you'll probably be able to adapt them to v1.5 fairly easily.

Good luck!

Gaile

Thank you Pixel Poet.
Your message makes me much happier.
I shall try these ideas tonight.
It is nearly lunch time here in NZ.

Blessings,
Gaynor
