[Solved] Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ after step 4

I am recieving an error after Gallery setup: Parse error: parse error, unexpected $ in /www/k/korgers/htdocs/gallery/classes/gallery/User.php on line 114

Setup appears to be successful until this point. It occurs after clicking Save Config on Step 4 of the setup.

Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful): www.korgers.net/gallery/
Gallery version: 1.5-RC2
Apache version: Apache 1.3.33
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): v4.3.11
Graphics Toolkit: ImageMagick
Operating system: (Unix) FrontPage/5.0.2.2635 mod_ssl/2.8.22 OpenSSL/0.9.7d PowWeb/1.1
Web browser/version (if applicable):

Re-transfer the files, or better upgrade to 1.5 final. Something seems corrupt in the files you uploaded.
