"Maximum dimensions of intermediate-sized images"

I prefer to upload images to my gallery with 800x600 resolution, rather than the 640x480 size which seems more common. It seems that with 800x600 there is more chance that a viewer can choose the fullscreen slideshow option without having to stretch and possibly distort the images. Yet when I look at Album Properties for any of my albums, I see that "Maximum dimensions of intermediate sized images" is set to what I believe was the factory default of 640. To experiment, I changed that to 800, assuming that the intermediate size would then display larger, presumably exactly the same as full size (I'm referring to regular viewing by clicking on a thumbnail, NOT a slideshow). But it didn't display any larger than when the setting was at 640 . Can someone help me understand this setting? Doesn't "intermediate-size" refer to what you see what you click on the thumbnail, while "full-size" is when you click on that intermediate image? Thanks for any help. ---- |

Are you looking at files you uploaded while the setting was 640 or 800?

Hello Rick,
this setting has only an effect for the upload.
It set the size of the intermediate picture on upload. Thats all.
It does not do a resize later, or changes the display.
What you can do if you want your intermediate in anoter size.
log in as admin. go to an album. in the album options dropdown is an option "resize all"
This is for resizing/removing the intermediate pics.
regards,
Jens
