After updating yesterday from an earlier version (a few weeks ) of G2, I received an Error installing Gallery Core on step 7 of the install. The data is here: http://www.kingofthebeach.com/gallery/core_failure.txt I tried step 7 again and again it failed at 60% and returned the following info http://www.kingofthebeach.com/gallery/core_failure2.txt

Is it possible to save this upgrade?

why are you running the installer for an upgrade?
just access your G2 and it will show you the upgrader..

I left copied the newer files over the old ones and when I tried to access G2 I got nothing but white screen. I deleted the config.php file that was still there and figured I could just install again and keep my G2data mysql tables. I have a backup of what I copied over but I'd like to use the newest build with my exixting info.

Update - I just opened my browser and went to access G2 and it automatically went to the Upgrade screen - which I completed successfully. However, now I'm not getting any theme at all - see here: http://www.kingofthebeach.com/gallery

Is there something I need to recopy over?

do you have any local tpl files? beta-1 to beta-2 updated all the tpls so any local tpls will need to be redone.

Yes, I deleted the local folders but G2 is still themeless. Anything else it could be?

Site Admin / maintenance / flush templates
removing local tpls doesn't take effect unless you flush templates or touch (update date) the default tpls.

Thank you for your help and patience. That did the trick.

I did notice something interesting. I have a testing server with G2 on my PC as well as a website with G2. On both machines the upgrade from 8.xx to 9.xx was as follows.

I copied over the existing files
Upon accessing G2 the screen is blank
    I delete the config.php file
Accesing G2 it brings up the Install screen (even if I try upgrade)
I go through the install and it crashes on step 7
I close browser and access G2 - I get php code.
I type in path to upgrade and it allows me to upgrade
    I flush templates.
