Hi
I just installed gallery 2 and am dead impressed However, i was stupid with my webserver (i ran 'remove frontpage extensions in cpanel') and broke gallery2. I noticed that ir just appended a unixtime value to the names of all .htaccess files, but upon renaming them, gallery2 still did not work (loaded min.php, but said 'no albums') - gallery.spadger.org
I backed up the non-working gallery, and reinstalled a fresh copy, but got a little stuck with ideas about what to do next. The gallery i backed up still has all its jpegs intact, and i am now wondering if anyone knows what i should do to make gallery2 working again?
Regards
Jon Bates

does the freshly installed G2 not work? what's the problem?
before you install G2, remove/empty the .htaccess file in the G2 directory, empty g2data and empty the database.

the fresh install works fine, as i moved the old instance to a new directory, but of course, the new one has no albums
I deleted the old db when i installed a fresh copy (but they had the same name), so i am wondering if i can just copy files form the old gallery to the new one to get my albums back?
take a look at this http://gallery.spadger.org/main.php - i moved back the old gallery, and i noticed that it knows about the albums it should have, but when i jump to one (from a combo box on the left), i get an error:

to restore your data you need to get everything from g2data and the db in place (and intact) and make sure your config.php points to them.
