Usability thoughts (and 1 error)

When I choose: edit item in the gallery, I get to a page (general item properties) where I can edit properties but I can't get back to the gallery. I always found G1 so easy to navigate, but the navigation is nowhere to be seen once I'm setting properties and I'm done setting them.

I'm browsing my gallery, I choose to delete an item. G2 asks me if I'm sure. I click yes. I get to the general item properties page of the previous (or next, I don't know anymore) item. I think this behaviour is confusing for newbies although it seems usefull for mass-editing items. Same applies here, I think it should be easy to navigate back to the gallery or maybe going there directly without editing another item. But that's a matter of taste. I like this behaviour.

Ok, now I just found out (just by clicking at random) that clicking the representation of the item (picture) gets me back to the gallery. It would be nice to have some text near the picture which hints this behaviour.

There's only one answer to the question:
Do you really want to delete this item?
Maybe there should be 2 buttons, one for yes (is already there) and one for no. Newbies may not think about the browsers back button.

Clicking 'General Settings' on the side menu brings up a page in the content frame that has this title:
'General Item Properties'. You might want to rename the side menu to General Properties to be consistent. Or the other way around :smile:

In the Gallery Site Administration, I click Users and get this error:

Parse error: parse error in /home/michel/public_html/g2data/smarty/templates_c/aa321d601e3bc419^AdminUsers.tpl on line 82

I'll check a new CVS version in a few days because permissions and users don't work.

To be sure you won't think of this post as an offence, I only try to make G2 even better. Feel free to ignore my thoughts but I think they might be helpful.
Keep on coding. I might start writing modules one day :smile:

Navigation is not very good at the moment. Don't worry, we'll clear up all of these issues down the road. Right now I'm focussing on getting the bulk of the functionality in place. I've got a UI designer lined up to rework all of the navigation.

Hmm. I can't reproduce that -- let me know if you can still do it with the latest code.

No worries -- keep the comments coming. It's very nice to get feedback on the work in progress. It's very hard to write an application like this in a total vacuum :smile:
