random highlight

Hey

I really love the gallery! had some troubles installing it but all works great now.
But I do have one little question that I believe is not in the software...

How can I make a random highlight?
I'd like to have a different thumbnail every time the page reloads.

I don't mind dirtying my hands with php, but I want to be sure it doesn't exist already...

activate the random highlight module in site admin -> modules.
then activate the random highlight by browsing to the album of your choice and click "edit album", you can activate it there.

I'm using gallery 1.x just as gallery.
I don't have any site built around it or nothing.

so there's nowhere something like "site admin" or "modules"

floridave, in a way it does what I asked, but I would like this to happen in the albums.php file (the main albums page) and every album takes randomly a picture from this album as highlight.
(PS; I had to make a modification to this file so it would work. I think my change is usefull and could be put into the official distribution. See the forum post.)

It's just that always seeing the same to represent the album is not what I prefere... All pictures are equal ;-)

It is a old thread and some people where sucsessfull and other where not. You milage will vary.

I'm sure I did a search on random... I guess I must have been temporary blind or stupid ;-)

This helps me enough to manage to do it.
