As I was working on customising Gallery 2 for my site, I realised that it had way way more features than I wanted and so I decided to simply sit down and write my own code to do what I wanted instead. It only took me half a day and all it does is display my photos, but it is based on a MySQL database and written entirely in PHP/HTML. There are only 3 files (exluding the pictures, of course). You can see it here: My gallery: http://www.nangreaves.ca/photos.php I hope this doesn't break any forum rules or anything, my site is in no way in the same league as Gallery. I just wrote it today, so any comments or bug notices would be very much appreciated!! |

kjnangre, nice. that's probably the way G1 started. just as a small script for bharat's own website.
btw: there are other F/OSS photo album scripts that have far less features than G2, but are good for their limited feature set and have a good out of the box layout/theme. i'd try them too if G2 is overkill for your needs.

Nice, fast loading too! Yeah, G2 is an overkill for small galleries. But ther eare 100s of smaller gallery scripts thats fast, easy and good looking too. No need to reinvent the wheel!

Looks a lot like Singapore. It has an admin panel as well. Hope you didn't write all that for nothing
The site is located http://www.sgal.org/
Here's a working sample
First saw it at falkotimme dot com

Very nice, but there are not a lot of images.
Are you sure that you want to use a professional gallery?
