The search function works but it doesn’t give any relevant result, maybe I am typing wrong words.
Try SMF I have it on three website it's really good if you want I could setup a admin test account for you to test it out by the way I don't work for SMF just like the product, like Gallery2.

yeah yeah, SMF is the best etc.
i'm pretty sure we'll use drupal's own forum system and it will be improved / customized over time.

I know what aravot means about the search function here. It's taken me doing 100s of searches and reading 1000s of posts to get decent results most of the time from searches.
The problem, however, is 2 fold, from what I've observed.
1) The words people use to describe things. This isn't going to change with different searching software. For example, if I post a topic asking about permissions, but I use the term "restrictions". It turns into this grand topic to end all topics and solves all problems. Then you come along with the same question and decide to search the forum, only you use the correct term, "permissions". You never see the best topic in the World, thus you post a new topic and people like me and valiant say "yeah, yeah, yeah, use the search function." ;)
2) The really shitty ass subjects people use. Example: If you're asking a question about customizing a theme DO NOT name the subject "problem with gallery" or "help me". ;) You really see these kinds of subjects when you try searching for something.
I do agree the search algorithm could use improvment, like actually being able to rank the results instead of just stupidly sorting them by date, poster, subject, etc Perhaps Drupal has some actual intelligence behind it's search functionality. I hope so ;)
