I have a fresh Mambo install 4.5.2.2 as well as the latest G2 beta4 of Gallery. I downloaded the component and module. The gallery works fine and the Mambo works fine. However, the module in Mambo does not seem to work. The module appears, but the image does not. When I place my mouse over the image, the URL is incorrect. Settings info: Full path to gallery: /home/simon7/public_html/gallery/ I have mambo at the root of the site and gallery installed in a subfolder named gallery. The link which appears has a URL of: http://www.simonwickes.com/v/Weddings/Sampler/Rosello_Wedding-0212-g3c.jpg.html But in fact the correct URL should be: Not only is the "gallery" folder missing, but is seems to add ".html" to the URL!! I tried to modify the settings, but it keeps rejecting them. However, they are in fact correct and I verified it is the same in the mos_gallery2 table. Any clues as to what is going on here? thanks Simon |

you have configured the g2 module "url rewrite" in standalone g2. now you have to configure it in embedded g2 too.
in g2/mambo, go to site admin -> url rewrite and enter the paths, hit save, go to the first tab and hit save again. once you have a .htaccess file in your web root, it should work.

valiant,
it won't work, because of the rewrite rules of mambo it self!
You have to adjust the rules from gallery2 to correct mambo rewritten url!
I don't support this yet and can't be blamed if you open a infinite loop because of this!

I turned off the rewrite switches in gallery and now the thumbnails appear in the gallery component within mambo. thanks for the help so far.
However, the link to the gallery page is incorrect, it is missing the path to the gallery folder.
http://www.simonwickes.com/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=26
should be:
http://www.simonwickes.com/gallery/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=26

Go to the main site and click on the image which appears in the left column, you will get a 404 error.

I have tried all sorts of things to get this to work, including removing and re-installing the mambo component for gallery. I went through config settings for mambo and gallery and nothing seems to work. Anything related to mod_rewrite has been deactivated.
There seems to be references to "embedded" mambo and indeed the sidebar module says "you are not on the gallery embedded page!" not sure what that means.
Do you have any suggestions on what I might do before I just give up?

TV21,
you haven't made a menuitem for gallery2 embedded, so mambo hasn't given it a itemid yet, this is needed to make the modules work!
so make menu link and see if it will fix the problem.

Aha.
I added the link to gallery and now the gallery link works (basically sticks gallery inside mambo) and when in the gallery area, the module image link works OK.
However, the module image link is still bad when the page is outside of the gallery.
I tried setting the embedgallery to true but it had no effect.

TV21,
where is your gallery located on your server? what is the direct url to gallery2 standalone.

what is your full server path to mambo?

Path to mambo:
/home/simon7/public_html/
mambo is installed on the root "/"
gallery is on "/gallery"

TV21,
what is the version number of the module and did you install the latest?
Why it works on the component page and not outside of it is puzzeling me, it means it can't load the config settings correctly.
please deinstall the module and reinstall the latest from mamboforge.net/projects/gallery2/

THAT DID IT!!
Mamboforge shows 2 different modules for the image block, one is with no version and the other is 2.3. I looked at them and the one with no version is from several months ago.
Thanks for persevering and helping me through this. I really appreciate it.
BTW, is there a way to set up the module to display two images or more?
