Upon first installing Gallery everything worked fine. Then I decided to install Netpmb to improve it and my troubles began.
At present I have three problems.
1. In the Netpmb diagnostic I get the following errors:

2. In the Configuration Wizard Step one I have one Serious Warning:
The PHP option 'register_globals' is enabled on your server. Gallery highly recommends that you disable 'register_globals' unless it is required by software on your site. Gallery does not officially support 'register_globals' being enabled, and will attempt to disable it internally.
3. In the final step (4) of the Configuration Wizard I get a message:
Error: File .htaccess is optional, however some Gallery features will be disabled unless you create an empty file named .htaccess and chmod it to 777 before proceeding. See the documentation for more details.
However I have set the Chmod on this file to 777 and 666 as it says in the doc files and I get the same message regardless.
