Moved to 2.0-rc-1 core 0.9.34. Slight upgrade... only one issue - after upgrading all modules, at the cache cleaning step the blank screen stayed for a long time. Pointing to next step (last) in the side bar finishes the upgrading and letting go Back to Gallery. But navigating to main page redirects to the upgrader to the beginning for second try, i guess. All first steps were marked as already done, and at modules upgrading pages additional modules (about a half) were upgraded (their upgraded status was shown, thereis not at the first try this screen), and then succesfull finish and voila..! Thanks a lot! And now to the issue.. In new layout scheme image blocks (random, recent etc.) are selected in Site Admin -> Themes -> Matrix. I'm to choose 'Random Image' block in SideBar settings their, then in dropdown i'm changing it to 'Recent Album', for example. But no any other (except random image) image blocks are shown at the sidebar. What is wrong? ----

in the image type drop-down, change it to another type and then hit save at the bottom.
works for me.

OK, the problem was that I've set up some preferences for parent album, and they were over global ones.
And, the image bloks appeared. Please see www.fimp.ru But they are not captioned, as they were before.. They were named as RECENT ALBUM or PICTURE OF A DAY.. Now there is not such an ability?
By the way, where can i see, the definitions of this image blocks..? For example, what is Picture of the Day? The most seen for last 24 hours..? or what? Picture of the week.. etc...

this is the "heading" option. the global default for all blocks is set in site admin -> Random/Popular, the per block default is set in site admin -> themes -> matrix, the override is in each album edit album -> theme.
