Love G1 and am hoping to use G2. Went through the install without a hitch. However when I login as admin and click the site admin link I get the following error:

Error (ERROR_BAD_PARAMETER) : Class SiteAdminView not defined in core.SiteAdmin
in modules/core/classes/GalleryView.class at line 170 (gallerystatus::error)
in main.php at line 264 (galleryview::loadview)
in main.php at line 90
in main.php at line 82

Thanks,

Captain Hendry

Valiant,

Okay, ran it and I get all success except for Gallery File Security (the last one) I get a warning. I did not CHMOD my config after install. Still 777. Also my album folder is in the G2 directory (I'm using FTP so it was there or root).

Thanks for your help.

Captain Hendry

Oh, by the way this is a T-shirt site. In case you were wondering why I have an album called Full Chest.

that doesn't make much sense. ah, powweb. if you use the forum search function, you 'll find out, that powweb has a lot of issues with G2. we can't explain the behavior, their php must have linked / must be using some incompatible / old DSO extensions or so.

You might want to take Powweb off your list of hosting referrals if it doesn't run your software. I selected them specifically because they were recommended here on the Gallery site.

I'd be willing to contact them as a customer and complain but you'd have to give me something a little more specific. Why does Gallery 1.5 seem to work but 2.0 does not? What PHP functions are we talking about?

g2 is a whole different application than g1.
you're right that we should update this recommendations to "just for g1.x". sorry about that.

I was really looking forward to G2. It looks flippin' sweet! If you get any leads on what the problem is, I'd be happy to complain to powweb on behalf of other G2 users.

Here's hoping RC2 has a brilliant fix.

please keep complaining @ powweb. their php that they've installed / or the 3rd party extensions are not 100%. recent G2 / powweb issues are very strange and one of them is certainly a powweb issue.
