Greetings,
Firstly let me say that i've enjoyed the past 6 hours or so playing around with and getting Gallery2 installed and configured with my fresh install of windows apache 2.0
Im an aspiring photographer who does weddings / birthdays and partys etc, as well as a proud new owner of a dualcore amd rackmount server running Windows 2003 enterprise ( as i do alot of streaming live video events etc. )
So coming from a mild linux/bsd background and experince setting up apache in windows with php and mysql and gallery was most enjoyable ( IIS wasn't an option )
Gallery is fully featured and FREE ! I love it...
After spending alot of time on the forums trying to fix a few errors i've noticed that the devlopers also invest alot of time in free support via forums.
Because of these reasons i've decided to donate $20 per gallery instance i'll be running on my box ( at the expense of my clientel ).
I would further encourage anyone else reading this to do the same !
I honestly feel apart of a family after spending as much time as i have on this.
( Gallery remote was a bugggy bitch with the broken paths etc. but using the Gallery Remote Debug i was able to fix them by tweaking the im.properties to C:/imagemagick/convert.exe and importantly ! jpegtrain.properties to C:/jpegtran/jpegtran.exe )
Anyways. This package if sold would be worth over 100$ USD easily !
Come on people if you can't justify rewarding these guys for providing you with a FREE feature rich package then your gonna die a bitter old man/women.
Thanks guys !
ps, is the picture of the gentlemen in the top right of the index page with the little boy a member of the dev team?
