phpBB2 integration, what's the deal?

I'm a bit confused about the conflicting information I read about the phpBB2 integration. First of all, snailsource has a mod for Gallery 1.5 and phpBB2 that's in BETA right now, they don't recommend it be used for production sites. The only stable version they have is for 1.4, and I have no idea if it will also work with 1.5. I made a post on those boards to ask.

Second, the information supplied in the /contrib folder bundled with Gallery 1.5 for phpbb2 integration also says it's for Gallery 1.4xx. Can I use it with 1.5 or not? That's where I'm confused.
