Sort Album order by Username

I've looked a bit into this but truthfully not much yet.....what I want to accomplish is to have a sort order of root level albums based on the login username. There are quite a few users in the gallery I've got going and an alphabetical sorting of albums based on username would be the easiest for users to find themselves. As well and related, I'm looking to basically do the same for Album Select where I'd just like it to display usernames with no subalbum depth.

I imagine both can be done but any pointers? I'll probably be getting around to taking a look at this in a bit and share the progress
