Can't get passed Step 1

The mysql db is created and the files are all uploaded(via ftp). I go to the website www.oxdg.com/gallery/install/ i click on Begin Installation and the website "thinks" for a few secs but never goes any further. I'm using hosting from www.hostsave.com and it says they have php4 support etc. I'm not sure really what to do since hostsave says it suppots everything gallery needs to work correctly.

gallery 1 is not the same as Gallery 2. so if they say they support gallery, they probably mean G1 and not g2.

however, so you're in the authentication step and click on continue and it just times out?
