Ive been curious about this for a while now; Who has the gallery with the most images posted in it? Since there isnt any statistics about this (that i know of) i thought ill post a thread and se if you guys have any suggestions! Also, if its your own gallery, it could be fun if you could post some statistics about it to, like amount of visitors and what kind of machine your running the installation on. At last i would like to thank the developers for the excellent work that Gallery is! |

I think care2connect probably takes the cake, their photo system is based on early versions of Gallery 2 code. I think they have something like 1,000,000 images and 500,000 users. I'm probably off by a bit, but its pretty gigantic.
I think you'll find that most G1 installs max out at 20,000 or so, give or take a bit. It just wasn't designed to have loads of images.

This is a G1 install on a dual 500Mhz P3 with 1Gb ram. Granted I had to remove the search feature, but it chugs along quite nicely.
1415 top-level albums (1436 total), 52351 images on 142 pages

We were running G1 with around 70k items up until recently when we switched to G2. G1 ran PRETTY well. We're now close to 80k pictures, not bad for a non-commercial, non-organization group of friends
One of our people wrote a script to index google results and came up with the results in this post (we indexed 2000 sites, this is just the top handfull). These results are by no means scientific, just and indicator.
