Does G2 provide view_album.php?

I use view_album.php for my G1 like http://xxx/gallery/view_album.php?set_albumName=Album_Japan
But I cannot find view_album.php in G2.

I knew I can use main.php, like http://xxx/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.ShowItem&g2_itemId=2227
But I think itemId is not a good idea, maybe it will be changed.

Is there any suggestion? I want a direct URL to open a folder or a album. And I want to use album name, not a id.

itemId is quite stable.

but if you activate G2's short url module (rewrite module), you can browse to albums / photos with /v/albumName/
