I was setting up my Gallery2 installation and enabling modules I would want but was missing one module a little bit.
Is there any planning on writing a user tracking module that gioves you the ability to track users or certain groups to see their behaviour. It can help in several ways like
- identify which user gave away his password because he logs in from lots of different places.
- Which albums people think are the best ones so I can move them to convenient locations (link)
- See if anybody is interested at all (but I could get that from server stats a little bit)
Basically any knowledge of what people are doing on my gallery would be nice. With the previous system I used I also have no means of doing it but my pictures appear with people I'd rather not show all pictures to (I shouldn't put them online to be 100% sure, I know). I accidentally found out someone was logging in with a friends login and this guy said he gave his login to anybody who wan't to see pictures of him because it was easier then downloading and sending or having me accept the user (if I was going to acceopt at all). But basically he made a guest account for anybody where this was not my which when I set up the website. He changed his password and doesn't do it anymore, but there is at least one other person doing it and I do not know who it is. A tracking module would help.
Basically I am thinking of a module that can track several things and can be configured what to track like
- user/group times of activity \ last activity \ week activity graphs
- often accessed paths through the website
- user ip's (to see if users might not be who they claim to be)
Looking at the complexity of this module I would say it is relatively easy to build, but might take a lot of time anyway. But do you think it is (partially) a good idea and is anybody interested in making it?[/]

we haven't planned anything like this, so go for it

Hmpf, I will need a better understanding of the gallery2 system first. That's why I started with a theme; little coding lots of change.
(As it turns out I have to rewrite album retrieving and item retrieving codes again anyway, so I was probably wrong about the little coding.)

I would like to see a module similar to this get created.
From looking at the requested features, this has been requested about 2 1/2 years ago.
