Gallery2 vs. Gallery 1.5

Is it just me? After studying the home page http://gallery.menalto.com/index.php real hard I'm having trouble with the difference. Is G2 a replacement or final version compared to Gallery 1.5 or are they two different animals? I have several installs of Gallery 1.4 and haven't been around much so may have missed something.

Thanks to the developers! It's great.

G2 is a completely new version from the ground up and is a completely separate beast from Gallery 1. G2 is due to go final very shortly, and at that time, will definitely be the recommended version for new installs.
