I posted this on Drupal also. But I didn't get any replies to help me find a viable solution. I'm still itching to install G2 and get it up and running.

Hey folks,

I'm trying to use Gallery2 (G2) with Walkah's gallery.module. I want to install Gallery2 on a subdomain, e.g: http://gallery2.mysite.com, whereas my Drupal installation is in the root directory of the domain, e.g: http://www.mysite.com.

However, when I go to Administer / Settings / Gallery in Drupal. It doesn't seem possible to put a subdomain as the location of my Gallery2 installation.

Location of Gallery2:
Path to your gallery2 directory, relative to the root directory of your drupal installation. Please include a trailing slash ("/").

Is there any workaround for this? I have problems with Drupal when I try to install Gallery2 to http://www.mysite.com/gallery2/, thus the reason why I want to install it as a subdomain. How can I use the gallery.module of Drupal with Gallery2 installed in a subdomain? :(

On a side note, the new Gallery2 (1.0) final was officially released today. It looks like the developers of Gallery also chose Drupal as their CMS. This looks like good news for the future of the Drupal-Gallery2 integration.

Cheers,

not yet possible, but planned.
we will change relativeG2Path to g2Path, then this subdomain fun will be possible.

valient,

That is very, very good news to hear! I downloaded the latest CVS G2 module from Drupal yesterday. But unfortunately the relativeG2Path to g2Path change has not been implimented yet. :(

I've been checking in from time to time to see if there's any update on having this flexability in the gallery2 module in order to use a subdomain. :)

Any updates?

Is it somewhere on the CVS of Drupal?

the changes i'm talking about have nothing to do with the drupal integration. it's about changes in g2. once they're done, the drupal integration needs to be changed to.
and no, the changes are not yet in the g2 cvs.

I'm just wondering if this is possible now?
If so can anyone point me to the docs? My search result don't seem to return anything valid.

I'm running Drupal 6.5 on my main site www.site.com and would like to integrate my Gallery2 which is installed on photo.site.com

Thanks.
