i have an application i use called ffmpegX. it has the files mencoder and a few others installed elsewhere that make it work.

g2 wants the location of ffmpeg. do i need another installation of different files? if so, what files and where should i install them (OS X)?

if i have the files, e.g., mencoder, mp2enc, mpeg2enc, mplayer, what do i point g2 to?

thanks, i really wish to get that working.

http://freshmeat.net/projects/ffmpegx/

ffmpegX is not ffmpeg. but it includes ffmpeg.
so ffmpegX includes ffmpeg. somewhere in your ffmpeg directory or /usr/bin or whereever it stored it, you should find ffmpeg.

ya, ffmpeg is a part of the "package," i.e., it's built into to ffmpegX, as in, "show package contents."

i found this thread: http://gallery.menalto.com/node/32698

i hope after doing what's therein i can get to work!

thanks
