I'm currently using the Siriux theme, and I was wondering how I can go about adding comments to the theme. Is there code that I need to add somewhere in order to get the comment boxes to show up?
You should be able to do this under Site Admin > Modules (first make sure the Comment module is installed and activated) then go to Site Admin > Themes > Siriux (tab) and add the "Show Comments" block to the section of page (sidebar, album, photo) you want.
Be sure to give permission to those you want to be able to add and view comments. On your top level album (main.php) click on Edit Permissions and add the permissions you want for the groups you want for the comments. Example, if you want Everybody to add/view comments type in the group name Everybody and give them the "Add comments" and "View comments" permissions.

This doesn't work for me. I've enabled both, and show comments is setup as well. comments are displayed (as they were imported from G1), but there is no option to leave a comment. I know that I can add "Item Actions" to the block section, however, I don't like the little drop down tab. Are there any other options?

yea, i've found that you can have either the drop down box, or just have them listed out by unchecking the drop box in the siriux themes section.

so is there a way to allow users to comment without having the drop down box?

hmmm. Site Admin -> Themes -> Siriux tab, right?
These are the only options I can configure:
Show image owners
Number of items to show per page
Blocks to show on album pages
Blocks to show on photo pages
Width of page content in pixels
Or am I just looking in the wrong spot?
Edit:
Ah, I had to highlight the Item Actions slot before the checkbox showed up. Thanks for the help.
