Edit Album / General Thumbnail problem

Hello every body, I have a little problem. When uploading an image to an album i have no thumbnail image in the album. When i go to Edit Album / General > Thumbnail (Set the size of the thumbnail. The largest side of the thumbnail will be no larger than this value. Leave this field blank if you don't want a thumbnail), i get an error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: getmimetype() in /var/www/html/album/modules/core/ItemEditItem.inc on line 161 (as you see my gallery is in the directory "album"). any idea's what causes this? During the installation i had the warning about memory size 8 MB which needed to be set to 16 MB, which i cannot do (i am not on a dedicated server). Would this be causing the problem? Should i stop using gallery2 if i cannot set the memory thing to 16MB? Hopefully not, and hopefully someone can help me out on my error, Gallery looks very nice. many thanks in advance. Daniel |

is your gallery embedded in another application, e.g. mambo?
and do you get the error when you hit save?

My gallery is not embedded in any CMS or other type of application. It is a clean install off Gallery2. I did not get any error's while installing (other than the warning about the 8mb memory) or while uploading files, creating albums etc. I got the error when i hit save in the Edit Album / General tab, after setting a thumbnail size. I tried 150, 100, etc. lots of different sizes, all the same error.
To be clear, I also did not edit any files whatsoever. Installed, created album, uploaded 1 file to test, than wanted to set the thumbnail size, pressed save and than the error occured.
