Server contacted, but Gallery not found at this URL

• Just installed G2 from AppVault in Plesk. My G2 version is 2.05
• My G2 install works great, and I can upload files from the browser.
• Installed GR 1.5 (WinXP), and then the 1.5.1-b1 patch.
• I input the correct URL to my GR URL configuration which is http://www.domain.com/pics/
• When I try to login I get the error: "Server contacted, but Gallery not found at this URL ( http://www.domain.com/pics/main.php )
• I tried all the FAQs. Adding the gallery_remote2.php with appropriate content has no effect. I did not even have an original gallery_remote2.php file?
• I do not have a GalleryRemote.properties anywhere.

Any clues?
