What files to edit for language customization

The following information is required to get an answer:
Get this information from the PHP diagnostic (in the configuration wizard).
Gallery URL (optional but very useful):www.phosphor.se/gallery2/
Gallery version: 2
Apache version:1.3.33 (Unix)
PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please): 4.3.11
Graphics Toolkit: ImageMagick
Operating system:MacOSX.3.8.
Web browser/version (if applicable): na

Hello!

I have spent the better part of my day chasing "po"-files to customize my Gallery frontend to Swedish. I have managed to locate and change a whole lot of Swedish "po"-files, but I can't locate the ones I seek most, namely:

- The title and subtitle "Gallery - this is the main page of your gallery" that appear on top of the pages in the front end. I would like to change this - or if that's not possible get rid of it alltogether.

- The "Gallery" title appearing in bold under the Gallery logo.

- The user menu's "View slideshow" lines in the sidebar – or better yet, all lines in the user menu.

- Items and default title in the album dropdown menu

- Top menu items

Can anyone assist in telling me where these texts can be found and changed. Your help is much appreciated!!!

By the way, the Swedish files, though impresseive in their ambition, leave a lot to be desired - incomplete, filled with typos, bad language use and worse: not few pure mistranslations, as they are. Maybe I can help...

User input files (like the title) will not be translated.

I too am hunting files where I'll be able to change English into Swedish (Gallery 2). Like the expressions "Advanced search" and "View Slideshow" at the sidebar on the main page as well as the texts "display mode", "Page 1" or the greyish texts "Date", "Owner", "Size" on top (+ the likewise greyish texts shown below every picture in the album - date, owner, size, view count). As it is now, even the front page of Gallery shown to the public is an ugly mixture of Swedish and English - are you saying that these words can't be corrected in any way? How will our Gallery be looked upon when we can't even use correct grammar ....?
Please help ...
PS I do agree with CHCG - some of the Swedish translations done are really some kind of Swenglish ... an example - in Sweden we don't spell the separate words in a phrase with capitals ...

I struggled with some of the same issues you are having.

These are not in .po files. You can change them by editing the root album title and description (click on Gallery, then Edit Album).

"Advanced search" and "View Slideshow" are not defined in the core module, where you were probably searching. They are in the search and slideshow modules. You'll have to translate all of the modules and themes you are using if you don't want any English text.
