It may be harder then i think but why cant gallery just let me copy all folders in to a directory and then it can do what it needs to inorder to make it work? For instance i really just want to have a year folder then have different items under that. cant gallery be made to just reconize a new folder and generate thumbnails on the fly? The only thing i dislike about gallery is how i have to upload every pic though the site or gallery remote. CAn it be programed so i can just copy via ftp to a pictures directory and gallery will do the rest based on a defaul imput setup? |

Have you looked at using the "From Local Server" method? Here's how I use it. Upload a bunch of photos in a zip file with the directory structure I want. Then I unzip the zip file on the server. Then I use the "From Local Server" method to upload those files. Then I delete the original files I uploaded as a copy of them is now located in the g2data directory. It can find the files in sub-directories from the "upload" directory you specify and it will create albums for each directory.
It's way better than using the web browser method or GR.
