First of all Great Effort on the Gallery !!! I truly love it .

The one thing i spend more time than i should be is giving permissions to the items.
I upload snaps about every week. And i have 3-4 users and 1 group. I need to set permissions to set of items in the album to 2 users and some of them to a group. And i need to give access to all versions and Add Comments.

It would be easy for me if there was a tree structure or a multiple select of items and set permissions. If this is not possible , can anyone suggest me a easier way to achieve this ?

One more thing - By default, when i create a new album or add new item the default permissions set is Everybody . I am sure i can change it so that default should be Nobody /None. But i am not sure how to do it ?

Thanks
Mahesh

new items inherit permissions of the album they are created in. no need to assign permissions for each new item that is added separately.
also, you can assign permissions recursively. click edit permissions in an album and then you'll get a "apply to" checkbox.

But once i add new items which inherit the permissions and if i need to change permissions to 5 out 10 items in that album , i would have to go to each item (individual image) and change the permission. I can't multi-select the images and set a permission.

if you want to change the permissions of all items in an album, you can edit the permissions of the album.

if you need to change the permissions of only a few items, then you'd need a mass edit function, which we don't yet have.
