I'm thinking of moving my photography website over to your software. It looks very good. I have a couple of questions that I couldn't figure out via the features page. I'm using Drupal right now, but I'm having difficulties getting the different photo modules to do exactly what I want. I only have 1 database to use, otherwise I would use the gallery module to interface between the 2 softwares.

The features I want to keep from Drupal: the ability to make straight text nodes like story that will publish on the homepage. I also used the webform module to make a question form that will send me an email when someone fills it out. Do you have an equivilent ability with your software?

Thanks!

you'd like to move from drupal to Gallery2?
drupal is a CMS, Gallery2 maybe a media management system, not really a text document management system.
maybe use G2 integrated in drupal, as we do on this website here.

of course you could create a text / document module for g2 such that you can have a built in text editor and better presentation of text documents / pages.
see:

you can add pretty much every functionality to g2. but right now, it still lacks *a lot* of CMS features.

I don't really need all the CMS functionality of Drupal for this one project. I just need a different homepage & a couple of other pages with some text. I only have 1 database right now, but I'm thinking moving to a new webhost so I can run both Drupal & Gallery. But, then again, Drupal is overkill for what I need.

You can use the same db for drupal and gallery (or gallery and anything else). Its the table pre-fix that allows this :)
