gallery 2 works slow

Hi. My gallery works very slow, I don't think it’s a server problem, because my other parts of website works very fast, and the other galleries I installed were working great. But for gallery 2, I have to wait for couple of minutes just to load the front page, and then it works faster, but not fast enough. I installed the minimum package and added couple of modules. I have over 3000 images, but it was working slowly even when I imported just couple of hundreds...
My internet connection is not the factor here, I like the gallery, and I would like to use it, but it’s too slow…

it's impossible to discuss slowness without knowing the system.
please report what system (CPU, RAM, operating system, ....) we're talking about.
also copy site admin -> maintenance -> system information and let us know what php version you're using plus if you're already using a db cache / accelerator.
the performance limitation could stem from your database, from your harddisk / filesystem access or it could be cpu limited or RAM limited.
or it could be a weird bug in any of the software that you're using (mysql, os, ...).

FAQ: Is it my imagination, or is G2 slower than G1?

same thing here... when you get hit with certain amount of images G2 starts works very slowly... your gallery is just another example of it ...

it starts working faster when you enter to albums that have less images...

on my gallery i just found another issue whenever you get a lot of traffic it'd start loosing thumbnails...
