Hello.

I installed Gallery 2 this week and started to test it before I incorporate the product into my live website. I ran into a couple of issues for which I have not been able to find the answers in the FAQs. If these answers lie within the site, please let me know the URLs so that I may reference the associated pages instead.

1) I created an album then viewed the slide show (both from admin and guest) but the default slideshow dimensions were that of the thumbnail size. What gives and how can I remedy this?

2) I do not want to display date and time or any other feature/description (don't want to give users the option of setting slideshow speed, image size, direction, show more info, or viewing owner, image size, etc. information) for the albums, save for the title/descriptions I provide. How can I tailor the gallery/slideshow to hide this info?

3) Can I create albums by pointing the directory to folders that already contain images? The task of having to create a new directory each time from scratch, then moving/uploading images within Gallery is pretty tedious when I already have directories complete with images I want to display.

Thanks!

1) probably answered on http://codex.gallery2.org -> howto or -> user contributions -> modifications

2) either described on codex or maybe someone else already asked this in the g2 customizations forum

3) not sure what you want. already tried the add item -> from local server method?

3) -> from local server method? Where is this in the admin panel? I see the path section, where I cannot specify an existing directory, but did not see the option you suggest.

Thanks!

in
site admin -> general, add an existing path to the upload paths
then go to your gallery frontpage and click
add item -> from local server

more information on codex.gallery2.org -> howoto -> add item
