Upgrade to Gallery 2.0.1

I'm currently running Gallery V 1.4 and I just downloaded V2.0.1 from this website. I saved it to a different folder on my web server. When I run the install file for Gallery 2.0.1 what will happen to all my tables and information that is already stored in the database for V 1.4? Please advise here because I don't want to lose all of my pictures that I already have stored. Thank you for the help in advance. |

There is no database for G1, well it's kind of a database. Anyway it doesn't use MySQL. Think of G1 and G2 as completely separate applications because they are. G2 is not an upgrade to G1, but you can migrate from G1 to G2.
Just install G2 separately from G1, then follow the migration instructions. You can find good information by clicking on the Documentation link in the upper-right corner of every page on this site.
