I have searched the mailing list, the FAQ, and this forum, and found lots of suggestions, but nothing has worked. The albums all show NOBODY as owners, and the admin interface shows no users other than admin (which I had to recreate). I have reset permissions, and created a new user, which shows up in the admin interface, is able to create albums, and add photos. .users appears to be where it is supposed to be (inside the albums folder) and permissions seem to be right, but the old users (there are several hundred) seem to be stuck in the ether.... I hate to have to reregister the entire group, but without a fresh idea... I think I am stuck with no choice. Any suggestions? My public gallery is in the directory /Gallery and the albums in /Snapshots I would appreciate any help. |

Looked in the .users directory, and noticed that the old user files looked something like this:
1234567_6239487
and the new user files looked like this:
23408900:24879879
Went back through the entire directory and changed all of the underscores (_) to colons (
, and now we are up and running.
Hope this helps someone some day.
Would still love to hear a reason why this happened.
