[xmlrpc] XMLRPC Module? What up with it? Are there any docs? Examples??

I would love to play around with the XMLRPC module, and get it to work on my install, and maybe integrate it into my app... Are there any docs, or examples?
Is there a client Javascript file somewhere?

I noticed that this module is related to PHPXMLRPC will their client work?
Does the Ajaxian theme use this module?

Any help greatly appreciated.

sooner or later it will be part of g2, but right now, it's still in the final stage of development, although, development isn't advancing much i guess.

get it from sf.net/projects/gallery-contrib/ -> cvs

in cvs, there's also an example client i guess.

i don't think the ajax theme uses it. g2 already has some "ajax" features, you don't need xmlrpc for that. ajax is based on js, xmlhttprequest (built-in browser feature) and g2 only returning tiny fragments.

phpxmlrpc? no idea. could be. i'm not involved in the xmlrpc module development.

As soon as I graduate from college (3 more weeks) and Bharat gets to the code review I'll get back to work on this. Theres the sample client included and I'll have another sample client to add. What's in CVS is pretty close functionally to what will be merged into G2, so go ahead and play around with it. Post any questions or problems you have in the "Other Clients and Tools" forum, any feedback from you on the XMLRPC module will be considered when I start working on it again.

Update: There's one that is up to date with current G2 CVS but it is awating a code review and a bit more development. It may make it into G2.2, but if you want to help out with it, the code is available as the remoteprotocol module in cvs for the gallery-contrib sourceforge project.

Theres a small todo.txt in the docs dir of the code I think, but it's far from complete. First thing that you could tackle is making the module not have to generate the "meta data" file beforehand and just loading it in dynamically from all of the classes that implement the remoteprotocol's interface.

I am looking for it too and in the comparision list G1 versus G2 it says it will be available after release 2.1 but can't find anything about it.
