I'm looking to get a dedicated server... performance on multi-hosting providers has been garbage. I found a great deal for a 2.4ghz celeron, with 512mb ram, 80gb drive.. for $74 a month on a 100mb port 2gb net connection. I'd be running FreeBSD or Linux..

How would the server perform.. on a scale from 1%-100% would be great.. 100% being over used/not going to cut it.. and 1% being can handle it no prob!

Thanks!

it should perform quite good. if you install eaccelerator, even better.

note that we recently found a performance issue when you're using a lot (200-1000+) of useralbums. we're working on fixing those issues though.
and if you plan to use the album select module with a large number of albums, you should get a recent nightly snapshot instead of 2.0.2, the performance was improved there.
else, 45k images are not that many.
