Hello,

I love your script and will think about it if it could fulfill one of my dreams.

1 . I would really like to have the feature to send MMS with any of the image choosen in a gallery

2. I wondered if it could be possible to add images in the gallery through email (e.g., all images sent to the email "sendimagesto@mysite.com" would be immediately added to a gallery (so people that would e.g., have a MMS phone could take a picture and directly send it to the gallery online...)

Please let me know if you plan to do something and/or if you have URLs of other projects which would do it.

Cheers.

This:

Might be useful as a temporary/limited measure. Or for any Gallery developers who want to integrate MMS posting (which would be very neat, IMHO), to use as a starting point.

I am sure most new phones these days will come with features for sending images. MMS is of course the standard and most MMS enabled phones can email an image.
I purchased the Nokia 3650 which has an upload image tool built in to it.
This tool Automaticaly uploads an image to Nokia's Photo zone for publishing.
You can configure the location it uploads to on your phone.

Nokia has released a specification document on how it handles these uploads using ASP.

There is folder naming function on these phones.

I was wondering if anyone had looked into this or tried to develop for this.

Any comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Most phone contracts actualy using the GPRS bandwidth is cheaper than sending an MMS. So cost is an issue when emailing a phot from your phone.

I realize this thread is a little stale ... but better late than never.

I've create a gallery extension to allow you to upload pics from a 3650/7650 to an existing Gallery setup.

You can download it from http://planetscott.ca/nis_gallery-1.0.tar.gz

Hope this helps,

Scott.

That's brilliant, thanks. One of the developers was just starting to look at the API, so this will be a big help.

If you like, you can add it as a patch to the SF site, which will make it easy for us to find.

Anyone try Scott's scripts yet? I have modified the two paths and specified the settings for the image uploader as stated in the readme. However, I cannot get it to work. Anyone have any ideas?

1. Select image
2. Choose upload image
3. Select appropriate album
4. Says it's Uploading
5. But reports "Uploading Complete. Unable to upload 1 images."

I originally specified the "Album Permissions" in gallery to 'maxx' (my
username), then switched it to "EVERYBODY" and it still reports back the
same message. I couldn't even find the error message in Scott's code or in the gallery code. Am I missing something here?

Thanks a bunch for the plugin. Great work!

Hi guys,

I was just wondering if the email support was ever done?

Is it possbile to email an image to a particular email address and have it upload directly to the gallery?

Hi All,

Just wondering if there is anyone out there who uses a Nokia 6680 to upload to gallery 1.5.1? I have no real need to update to G2 but would like to know how to upload pics using my mobile.

Thanks
DG

g2 has a nokia upload module for over a year now. it allows uploading photos from certain nokia cellulars.

a g2 MMS module is in the works, but it might take months until it's released.
