posted albums with very high resolution and now i cant delete them but want to, any suggestions?

I uploaded 8 megapixel images and put them in photo archives- the images dont show up. i realized my mistake - i need to post smaller files- but now when i go to delete the albums it starts sthe processes but then freezes up and nothing happens. how do i delte these unwanted galleries?
