Restricting AddItem Option in Root Gallery

PHP version (don't just say PHP 4, please):
Graphics Toolkit:GD
Operating system:WIN2000

Please see if someone can help, I am trying to remove the Add Item Option off the first page.

In other words, I only want users to be able to add items in their own Albums, and not the root of the gallery, please can someone point me in the right direction or show me how this could be done, Thx so much.
