Hi Hope in the right area. I currently use 4images for my gallery. There is one major feature of 4 images that is lacking. I was hoping to see if Gallery had this feature or if it was easily adaptable before making a major change over with 1200 pictures. Here is what I'm looking for. I run a dating site. In some cases a member will have more then one picture. I wanted to know if Gallery had the ability to display the Larger photo, with thumbnail pictures of the member's extra pictures right below it? If that is the case, is there an example.....IF that is the case, I'm switching over. Does anyone know an easy way to transfer all 4images data/sql to Gallery? Thanks |

What you asked for can be done with the correct editing of theme, but it will require some coding skill to do it. Gallery 2 is very flexible, it can basically do anything with the correct programming, but specialized solution might not be easy.
Transfer from 4images is not possible at the moment. Gallery 2 only have support for migration from Gallery 1 so far, however, it is possible to use Gallery remote to upload. Or simply have the site follows the exact structure of the files in a given directory

the only known way to switch from 4images to g2 is over coppermine.
import 4images to coppermine, import coppermine into g2.
g2 isn't member oriented. so there are not 1 or more images/items associated directly to members.
but g2 has a "useralbum" module where each user can have an album and the user can add as many images as the user wants to this album.
the default name of the useralbum is the username.
each image in g2 can have a thumbnail and an unlimited number of resized versions of the same image.
there are various themes to choose from and you can create your own theme to make g2 look exactly the way you want.
