Hi all,

First of all, I cannot start this post in a different way: I really love Gallery! I've been using it for quite a while (first version 1.x and now, recentely, 2.0) and have recommended it to lots of friends. Thanks for making such a good software available to all of us.

Now let's go to the point ;-)

Gallery2 is really amazing... but... there are some small "problems" that made some of my friends say "wonderful ideas but not really well implemented". Rest assured I've punched all of them although I had to agree with some points they were making ;-) Some issues noticed:

[Photo Link]
- [major annoyance] When "linking" multiple photos to a different album, the order of photos in the original album should be maintained in the other album
- The admistrator should be able to see that a given photo is a link or that it is "linked" to multiple albuns
- There should be an option to cascade changes in a photo to all the links (for example, changes to the caption)

[Photo Text Editon]
- The date and custom fields should be available in the page that allows the user to edit the text of multiple photos.

[Search]
- [major annoyance] Not being able to search by date (specific or interval)

[Item Permission]
- [major annoyance] No being able to select the users or groups from a list/combo. The auto-completion helps but is not the same. Different than Gallery1, now it is very easy to forget to add someone to the list of people that can see an album.

It would be great to hear your opnions about these "problems". The reason I am writing is to point out potential usability issues that have been noticed by different people after 1 or 2 days using Gallery2.

we know that the "edit permissions" view is crap. there's already a top 10 feature request for it on http://gallery.menalto.com/sfvote/all

@rest
please check if a request already exists on the above link.
if not, please file your request (RFE) / bug report on http://sf.net/projects/gallery/ .
