embedded url rewrite module

I've been using G2 with the rewrite module deactivated, but ran across this info on using it while embedded so gave it a shot.

I installed the module, activated, configured, tested - all was a success, but when I go back to embedded G2, I get an Internal Server Error and this shows up in the log file.

[Fri Jan 13 22:20:25 2006] [error] [client 146.5.7.4] mod_rewrite: maximum number of internal redirects reached. Assuming configuration error. Use 'RewriteOptions MaxRedirects' to increase the limit if neccessary.

No big deal if I can't use it. Just wondering if anyone can help, as I know nothing about .htaccess rewrite rules, etc.
