Hi

I've sucessfully translated the checkout and checkout by email module into german. There's only one problem left. It seems the generated email doesn't pick up the translated messages and is always sent in English. Has someone solved this problem (regardsless of the language) or can point me in the right direction to get this done. Any suggestions welcome.

thanks,

Ronny

I have the same problem while translating in Dutch. Possibly message.tpl takes the translation from yhr .po and .mo files in modules/core/po and modules/core/locale? In my Email al is left in English after translating checkoutemail, except for Itam, Title and Summary. As I tried, it was not taken from the translation of checkoutmodule itself. So perhaps it is worth trying? I'll try tommorrow.

Added translation of Message.tpl to nl.po and then remade modules_core and it worked, except for the line "Recipient's Name (if different to above)". I have this problem also in "Customer Details" (Details.tpl). There also "Postal Address" will not be translated. Hope somebody will find how to get this working allright. But so far things must also work for Spanish translation, I think.

rzach - could you post your checkout email translation? I am also trying this. but for some reason, although I have translated all strings, only the first two strings seem to be translated: "Checkout" and "Customer Details". Really strange. It compiles successfully and reports that all 45 strings were translated, but only these two change. Any ideas anyone?

Allright, I am now at the same spot - everything basically works except the e-mail. It's not clear to me what needs to be done... can someone elaborate?

Hi,
I don't know if this helps, but I'm currently working on putting together all the various language translations for checkout, checkoutemail and checkoutpaypal along with the modifications to the templates needed to get them correctly used (rpiontek : the templates don't use the translated strings correctly). The translations seem to be hidden in various forums. I currently have Spanish, I believe I've seen German somewhere, and I'm adding French. I haven't got on to the email problem yet, but will include that too once I work out what is going wrong.

Let me know if you have any language contributions to make and I'll try to include them.

I'm still looking for code to make the bought items downloadable after purchase, if anyone could help with this it's rather urgent...

Thanks,
jayhen

I don't know how to get the e-mail to work correctly. I don't understand why it doesn't work. Message.tpl seems to look for the strings in the same way as the other updated templates I have (checkout works fine, and the details.tpl of checkout email works). So I ended up just translating Message.tpl directly. In my case this is ok because I am running two different sites, one for english, one for german. This is because I didn't know how to do multi-language with some other tpl files (long text, not just short strings) which show up on the root page (PGLightbox theme). I'm happy to give you the de.po files I'm using, but some of the admin stuff isn't tranlasted because I don't need it (and actually don't want it).

Hi
I've been reading and searching this forum for some long and think it would be better following this subject rather than opening a new one.

I could easaly change checkout email language from english to portuguese by simply going through all files under checkoutemail folder and changing english words to portuguese. I know that this is not the best way to do it but it works.
I've also saved all files (through NotePad) in UTF-8 coding system.

My problem is when receiving emails sent via this module, it will recognize subject special characters (as "ã" or "á") but form titles and informatin typed by client won't have any. What file do I need to save as UTF-8? Or is it a header problem?
How did other translators came around this special character issue?

Many thanks!

Hello Jay,

here's a german .po file for checkoutemail, based on the French one. If you compile it before I have, let me know. Would have to set up a new gallery server first...

The French file said # $Id: fr.po 1178 2007-07-14 17:54:06Z elucidos $ "Project-Id-Version: Gallery: Checkout by Email 0.0.9.1\n"
Hope that's sufficient. If there's a newer template, send it over.

Thx & greetings from Berlin!
