while wating to test out the next release I had a few questions, some of which ive fogotten,
will the thumnail slideshow have a scrollbar if say theres a large amount of images or it needs to be a fixed width?
Will mouseovers for images be able to change markers, I noticed in demo that mouseover worked but was hard to see with a lot of data on the screen, I figured in this type situation the mouseover effect could be a larger marker or a colored marker specific to the mouseover. Thats prob pretty easy question but im waiting for next release to find some more bugs

The bar has a fixed size but then the program caculates the size of the picture inside the bar and if it is bigger than the size of the sidebar, a scrollbar appears ;)
The "mouseover" effect replace the marker on the map with another picture so you see which marker you are hovering over. Currently I'm using a simple plain (and ugly) red arrow and indeed it isn't very big.
If you have some time I would definiitvely love it if you (or anyone interested for that matter) could come up with some nicer icon than the one I have
As for the upcomming release. I know I talked about this week-end but it might be a bit challenging. what I have left to do:
- Master EXIF button that populates all EXIF GPS hedears into the GPS coordinates.
- Default position and zoom level for all the "get via map"s
- Finish the filtering of item and routes accodingly to rights (see feature request Filter List and Permissions)
- Last but NOT least port the module to gallery 2.1
I should be on time for this week-end but it will greatly depend on how much time I have tonight and tomorrow.

think about.
-Make all other markers hide
-Use a "pulsing" (animated) marker.

I tried that but couldn't get it to work. I ain't good enought I suppose. javascript is not my best skill at all ;)

I was just thinking of this while messing around with some icons, would it be possible to just open the icon pop-up window on mouseover, that might work well.
I tested out some animated markers and Im not sure if I like them plus it seems like the map only allows .png format so I would require more code?
I like the simple way http://www.panoramio.com/#lt=46.195042&ln=-66.621094&z=12&k=1&user=0&a=1 uses the mouseover for the image and the marker, of course this method might get confusing if you have a lot of differant marker colors.
Also The upload marker in admin doesnt seem to work, I tried to upload single .png files and I get the error-- "There was a problem processing your request. Please select a PNG file to upload!" using both the upload new icon button and the add button. Directly uploading icons to the folder works though.

Those are reall nice icons there
I'll add those to the upcomming release, plus i'm gona try to see which one looks better for "mouseover"
Having the window popu is not too hard (it's already happenning when clicking) but it might get a bit confusing if the marker isn't showing on the current viewport. The map would then pan all over the place ....

Well ... I tried to use those icons and it turns out it really depends on what you want and have and such
If you use the "Map" version it's better to use a red color or green color icon. If you use a HYbrid or sattelite version, the yellow or white are best ... Bottom line is seems like it's going to be yet another Admin Panel settings
I wish I could find the ideal solution but it'll be impossible to please everyone and everyone's setup so .... I think I'm gonna put together an new admin panel option to select this icon.

Major Success !!!!
I finally got version 0.5.0 finished and working (for g2.1) !!! It also permitted me to find 2 more bugs in my version 0.4.10 that I haven't released yet.
Bottom line I have a version 0.4.10 almost finished (floridave needs to add the History and it's all set) that will be for Gallery 2.0.x
And a version 0.5.0 (same status as 0.4.10) that works for Gallery 2.1 ...
As soon as I got the final code, I will test the all thing on 2 more machines (maybe even 3) and then I will be all set to release for you all

whoa Im away from boards for a few days and there's a ton of stuff, ill have to get updating Maybe ignore that png thing I was having trouble with since Ill prob gone try out gallery2.1 and the new module this week.
