Upgrade question from 1.4.4 to 2 via 1.5

This may seem like a silly question, but I am upgrading from 1.4.4 to g2. I am going to 1.5 first, as recommended. I have completed the migration to 1.5 and noticed that all my colors have been lost that I set up on the 1.4.4 css - no big deal but rather than fix all that and then presumably have to do it again once I get to g2, am I better off just continuing on to g2 and do it all there? Gallery 2 won't import your colors or your layout, just the items, albums, users, etc. So just get everything into G2 and then customize it to your liking.
