Yes, yes I know... The situation is the following. Low level traffic, I will be the only one managing files etc. I've read everything I can get my hands on, altough I don't fully understand everything as I just started with php a few days ago. (Domino Developer since many years, don't tell anyone. ;) I've found a modified version here that's supposed to work: It work's until step 8, "install gallery core", where I get a lot of error messages: Safe mode in effect etc.. Are you able to install G2 manually somehow? Haven't been able to find any info on this. Thanks! Joacim Boive |

Yes, I read it already. Timeout issues are'nt a problem for me, I can risk it.
I'm interested in getting it to run, all discussions about why you shouldn't aren't really interesting here. I know the issues and I can accept them.

take a look at install/steps/SystemChecksStep.php aoudn like 108. Remove the safe mode checks.

Jocke72, did you have any success in installing G2 with safe_mode enabled?
I'm very interested in this as well, since I use G2 the same way you do, and want to switch to a host that does not support safe_mode off. If you got it working, it would be great if you could explain the exact steps. Thanks!

Nope, sorry. Got an error when installing the core modules. Have a look at the link I posted.
In the very near future I'm switching to another host that has safe_mode=off so this is'nt really important to me anylonger.
